2013 Nissan Rogue regular key not remote starting

+2 votes
I have programmed the EVO-ALL Bypass with no problem... I have a Compustar CS600S remote start, it is connected to the EVO-ALL D2D... When I try the remote start button off the remote the EVO-ALL YELLOW LED blinks 3 times along with the parking lights pauses then blinks one more time along with the parking lights.

I can't seem to find anywhere online what that means.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

The Yellow LED is controlled by:

  1. the Yellow wire on the EVO. If it's reacting exactly like your lights are, then to me it sounds like it may not be connected to the right place.
  2. It would also react to ignition On states through the datalink. So, if it's flashing and staying steady On, this means through ddatalink it would be receiving ignition on-off-on-off-on-off etc... This problem may happen when both EVO and Compu are not set in the right datalink protocols.

If using the datalink, which protocol are both remote starter and Compu set to? By factory, The EVO is set to FORTIN protocol and the Compu is set to ADS. These cannot communicate with eachother properly.

What is the 12-digit service number written on the back of the EVO?

Thanks for the quick response. The yellow wire is connected to the ignition wire I made sure of that last night. I am using the datalink... Not sure which protocols are being used since I didn't change anything besides the firmware on the EVO. I will get you the service number in just a little while. Service number: 001A06215819
If you never changed the Compu programming option you will need to do so. Look through the programming guide, there is an option to change the datalink protocol. set it to Fortin. Do that with the EVO completely disconnected then reconnect the EVO once you programmed the Compu accordingly.
Can I program the Compu with the remotes or do I need the programmer to do that?
Not sure, not my product. It would say in their installer programming guide how to enter programming via remotes if it's available.
You can also save the headache and connect the necessary wires between the EVO and Compu instead of using datalink. Just make sure to cut the BLue and White wires in the datalink afterwards.
Yes I def could do that too...

I just checked in the programming options for the Compustar and I can not change the Datalink protocol, that I see anyways... Is there another option maybe on the EVO to change and to work with the Compustar? Also, the CS600S is a 1-way data link not a 2-way data link.

I'm looking at that install guide right now too, can't see anywhere about changing it, so it must be auto recognizing the protocol.

Is there another option maybe on the EVO to change and to work with the Compustar?

  1. If you have the Flash-Link Updater, plug the EVO and update the firmware to the most recent firmware (not the recommended, but the really the latest one). After flashing it, go to the EVO-ALL Options tab and turn On option 21.2 (AP/OFA datalink), click Save options.
  2. Disconnect the power from the CS600s
  3. Plug in the datalink connector and the EVO
  4. reconnect the power to the CS600s
Still having problems with this...

I got the EVO-ALL programmed to accept the Compustar AP/OFA datalink... I go ahead and try to remote start the car only the RED LED will light up and nothing happens, the lights on the dash will light up but nothing after that. Sometimes the YELLOW LED will light up along with the RED LED but still nothing happens after the dash lights light up...

There is 12V at the ignition wire on the EVO-ALL I checked that 3 times.

When I shut the remote start sequence off with the remote the parkign lights flash 2 times stating that the ignition or foot brake is on, when both are not on.

What else could be the problem?

When I shut the remote start sequence off with the remote the parkign lights flash 2 times stating that the ignition or foot brake is on, when both are not on.

Hmmmmmm.... Ok, I know it may be a pain in the backside, but, lets forget about datalink for now?

  • Cut the blue and white wires from the datalink.
  • Connect the tach output of the EVO directly to the remote starter
  • Connect the foot brake output of the EVO directly to the remote starter
  • Don't connect the Locks and trunk release yet.
  • Make sure the Tx connections are not reversed. (ie, Light blue /black wire should be on vehicle side of the cut Tx wire)

Master reset the EVO using this procedure then reprogram the unit.

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

Robert,

I got the bypass working and remote starting...

Another problem I am running into is, that the EVO-ALL loses power after I remote start the vehicle and try to remote start it again, I have to manually go to the EVO-ALL and unplug the power cable and plug it back in to get power back to it, then it will remote start again...

This happens after everytime I remote start.

I know there is plenty of power to the unit and a good ground... Could the unit be defective?
