Can't get power to Evo

I double checked that the 12v for the remote start is good, then I connect the data link to the evo but it doesn't get any lights. Would other wires affect this? Or is only power required to just get lights on the evo?

Using RS00-G5 and EVO-All on 2010 Acura TL push to start

Test the datalink wire and see if you have 12v on the red wire and ground on the black wire, be careful not to short them together.

They both are good. Would anything affect the fortin not showing lights? I tried a different data link cable as well.
