Evo-One with RF642W - Appears that the remote is not programming.

0 votes

I am trying to install an Evo-One into a 2007 Honda Civic.  The Evo-One appears to program properly (10 red flashes followed by blue flashing.

The remote programming procedure appears to begin correctly.

Press Valet button with key in on position (Horn beeps and parking light comes on).

Press Valet Button 5 times (Horn & parking light beeps and flashes each time).

Press Brake once.

Press [-] button followed by Lock button (remote flashes blue then after that it flashes red once).

Turn key off.

Whenever I press any of the buttons the remote flashes blue, then after a pause flashes red once and beeps.

Does this mean that the programming failed?  If so, do you have any ideas why it failed.

(Note:  The 3XLock on the OEM remote does not work to initiate the remote starter either.)

Thanks.

Tim

When you press the brake once, does the LED in the antenna start to flash rapidly ?

You should program the bypass first because the brake signal is coming from the canbus.

The antenna LED was not flashing.  I pulled to the unit out to double check the settings.  While doing so, I noticed that when I went to check the Unit Options that Custom Unit was checked.  I unchecked it, whiched disconnected the unit from Flash Manager.  I reconnected the unit and found that all the options under EVO-ONE Options were the same, but some of the options under Unit Options had changed.  I gave the unit another try in the vehicle and was succesfull programming the remotes and getting the remote starter to work.

Thanks for your help.
