What is External Input?

+1 vote
Evo all, installation guide for standalone remote start shows, Yellow/Black wire as external input. what does that mean? and do we need to connect 1k ohm resistor for parking light? which wire i can tap for parking (-), any place under the dash?

I also need to know if there is a +12V switched ignition supply, i need this to power up my rear view auto dimming mirror?

Thanks.

Hello,

You do not need to connect the External Trigger wire. It's used as another means of starting and stoping the vehicle. If you ground it, car will start. Ground it again, and car will stop.

and do we need to connect 1k ohm resistor for parking light?

If your car requires a 1k ohm resistor you will need to use a 1k ohm reistor to turn on the lights.

The EVO-ALL does not supply any ignition.

Thanks for the responce. i have installed the EVo and everything seems to be working perfectly fine. i have enabled standalone remote start and Alarm options, this even re-locks my doors within 30 secs if not opened. great feature :)

while my car is on remotestart, horn doesnt chirip if i press lock or unlock on the keyfob, even though the chirip options are enabled under option 22. what could be the reason?

when i shut off the engine, remote fob works as notmal one honk for lock and flashes for unlock?

The system will not rearm itself while the vahicle is running.

how does it re-arm then? how can i make instrument pannel red light to blink while its arming?

if i enable 2 chirips for horn (not the siren) for unlock option, why it dosend honk when i unlock it?

is there any other feature i can enable for stand alone alarm without doing any wiring stuff?

I have auto headlights, so my headlights and tail lights come up when i remote start. i dont think i need to connect a parking light wire in this case?

The vehicle will re-arm itself when it locks while it is not running on remote starter. Car has to be off.

You need to wire the horn to the EVO as per diagram in the EVO-ALARM install guide. The EVO cannot control the vehicles horn through the vehicles Can-Bus (like door locks etc...)

Download Installation Guide for the EVO-Alarm. The EVO will not do anyhting that is not listed in that guide plus on the website. http://ifar.ca/en/vehicles/

No, but in some cities its the law to have lights on while the vehicle is running. Make sure they always turn on.

thanks, where can i Tap the parking light wire? what about the Arm/disArm red light on the instrument pannel?

After remote start, when i get into the car and insert the tip key to run position, i get a message on the dash gauge as "Tire LO" once and then disappears??

this usually comes if any tire has a low pressure and stays till i inflate the tires.

Thanks once again

The tire pressure light should go away after doing take over (leaving with the vehicle) after you have remote starter the vehicle.

thanks, where can i Tap the parking light wire?

what about the Arm/disArm red light on the instrument pannel?

Whats the car?

Dodge charger 2009 SE V6 2.7
I also see an error code p0513 (incorrect immobiliser key) on the dash pannel, no check engine light though???
Parking Lights can be found where written in the install guide. You may need to use the output of the EVO to activate a relay that would send the negative with 1k Ohm resistor. But you can try connecting the EVO with the 1k ohm resistor directly.

Arm/Disarm, the doors need to be closed and vehicle off. You may want to try reporgramming the EVO at the same time and pay close attention to Step 8. Besides for that the only other thing would be that that model has different Arm /Disarm codes.

Immobiliser key light will light when the car is requesting to see an actual key in the ignition barrel. When this is the case, the light would go away getting in the car and putting a key i nthe barrel and leaving.
I have sorted the immobilizer key issu n cleared off the code with the scanner. everything seems to be fine now.

do you want me to re program the evo while all doors are locked n engine off?

step 8, i guess is pressing the lock button on the  keyfob while the blue light is flashing on the evo, m i right? will that fix the arming light on the cluster, if supported?

what is data link remote start mode? can i enable this option using the flashlink?

Thanks
