Evo-FORT1 do I really need the flashlink2 to install.

I am thinking of purchasing the EVO-FORT1 for my Ford F-150. From the u-tube videos I've seen there is no mention of programming this unit first before installing. It looks to be a simple plug an play device. Do I really need to purchase the flashlink2 in order to use my OEM key remotes. Seems silly to purchase that just for a 5 minute usage.

IIRC you will need the flashlink 2 to change the necesary options and its always a good idea to update the firmware and it's not like the updater can't be used again.

You have to keep in mind our products are meant for professionals whom already have the flash-link updater. Our main products the EVO-ALL/EVO-ONE are compatible with over 4000 vehicles and hav a bunch of different features available. For proper setup of vehicle firmware and options (such as 3x lock start), this is done through the flash-link udpater.
