No LED lights on EVO ALL CHRT5 with program button pressed 2016 Wrangler

Question

I'm trying to install this unit but when I get to the step where you hold the program button and connect the black 4 pin connector the LEDs do not turn on.  If I release the button then all LEDs blink rapidly.  Could this be a faulty unit or need to be reprogrammed?

Make sure the 4 pin connector is fully inserted in the connector. The connector should be flush with the EVOALL case.

Thanks for your response. The 4 pin connector doesn't want to go in far enough to sit flush. Is there a trick to this?
