After I remote start and drive my truck, I have to use the remote to stop it, why?

I have my EVO combo and CHRT4 hooked up as a stand alone remote start using the t harness.  It starts and runs great.  Tonight, I started the truck with the OEM remote, put my key in the ignition, turned the key to the run position, and drove home.  When I got there, I took the key out of the ignition and the truck would not shut off.  I had to use the remote to shut it off.   I've installed other remote starts on different vehicles and they all used the brake wire to change from the remote start to the OEM ignition..if that makes sense to anyone.  And the key would shut off the vehicle once it was removed.  Did I not wire this up correctly in my 2012 Ram Diesel or is this just the way this system works?  Thank you for your help

How exactly did you wire up the parking lights? I know it sounds not related but I have seen this in the past and it was due to improper parking light connections.

This is indicative of an improper setting on the bypass side of the settings...

Did you program the EVO yourself? This is EXACTLY what happens when you turn off the foot/pedal brake monitoring in the bypass settings...

Hook the Evo up to a computer and make sure that foot brake monitoring is enabled on the bypass options. If you turn off foot/pedal brake monitoring, then the starter will not turn "off" and will remain in control of the car until you turn it "off" with your remote(typically by doing the same process as you would to start it remotely). You need this option on so that when you tap your brake pedal, the starter turns off and the car has control over itself again(tap brake with ignition off=car turns off, tap brake with ignition on=evo turns "off" and you can shut your car down as normal).

If you don't have access to the software and dongle, then see if using the parking brake before trying to turn the car off will let you turn it off via the ignition barrel(if this works for you then this would likely indicate that the foot brake monitoring is turned off but parking brake monitoring is on).

When I say the evo turns "off" in quotes it's because it never truly turns off but that is the best lameman's term I can think of...
