VW 2019 Atlas Programming/CAN Issue

0 votes
Recently tried to install EVO One in 2019 Atlas Push to Start. Latest Bypass Firmware Installed.

T-Harness VW6 & TB-VW Installed.

In the Instructions it mentions the CAN BUS is in the Steering Wheel Module Control.
This is a Non-Heated Steering Wheel and does not have the CAN Wires present in the OEM Connector. No Orange/Green or Orange/Brown Wires - Pins 3 and 4

Using WireColor - I have found and connected the Wires to the Driver Door Harness and confirmed the CAN Lines are correct.
Data CAN Bus (High) Orange / Green Steering lock module. 4 pin connector or driver door harness
Data CAN Bus (Low) Orange / Brown Steering lock module. 4 pin connector or driver door harness

During Programming - Step 1 - Released on Blue Light. Step 2 - Connected all Cables. Step 3 - Turn On Ignition. Step 4 - Press and release programming button once and wait for Rapid Flash of Blue Light and it never gets past this Step.

I have confirmed CAN Lines and Transponder Wires.

Just to also confirm - We cant use CAN BUS 2 from the OBD, Correct?

Any other Ideas of programming issue?

Thanks

This is an alternative location for Canbus Driver kick.

Yes this is where I have the CAN lines connect and it's still not working. But I don't know if this matters or not but in the picture it has orange cables C1-C2 going to CAN lines and not the Grey & grey/ blk C3-C4cables as it shows in the instructions without t-harness
ignore the wires colors that are going to the CAN wires, this is taken from a different remote starter diagram. They should be Grey and Grey/Black.

So do you get the flashing blue light ?
No I do not get the flashing blue light. This is my problem. After I press 1x programming button it does not do anything. Confirmed the voltage on the CAN Lines and key is wrapped 10 times. The instructions are wrong as the T-harness doesnt work. Has this been confirmed as verified working for the 2019 Atlas?

Any other suggestions on this?

Talked with a guy from VW and he listed all the possible CAN Lines.

Diagnostic BUS (OBD Port) (can be Orange/Black or Orange/Red)
Comfort BUS (Orange/Green)
Dashboard BUS (Orange/Blue)
Drive-train BUS (can be Orange/Black or Orange/Red)
Infotainment BUS (Orange/Violet)

I have Confirmed the CAN Bus is the Comfort Bus.

Only other thing is I noticed on the 2018 the Firmware Suggests to downgrade to 64.XX which is recommended and on the 19+ its recommended to have the latest Firmware. I will try the 64.XX firmware tomorrow if no other ideas but Im running out of things to try.
I would suggest contacting fortin tech support when you have the module and vehicle on hand

I finally got the car programmed, I only got the car after hours but playing with the Firmware it finally worked.

FYI - According to VW Engineering, The CAN Lines are not in steering column like it was for 2018 Atlas. This has changed to LIN Communication.  So the VW6 T-Harness will not work. Instuctions need to be updated so this doesnt cause issues with other installers.

This car is a 2019 Atlas but with the latest Firmware (75.41) the car would not program, Never could get the flashing Blue Light Conformation. I loaded the recommended FIrmware (64.09) for the 2018 Atlas onto the Fortin EVO-ONE Module.

After loading 64.09 the Module Programmed with no issues, but the issue with that firmware is that when the Lock/Unlock buttons are pressed on the Key Fob the Blue light would not come on, like it wasnt receiving the CAN Messages. Remote Start (LOCK/UNLOCK/LOCK) would not work either.
Updated the Firmware to the latest 75.41 the module shows responses from the UNLOCK/LOCK, Remote Start (LOCK/UNLOCK/LOCK) worked just fine.

I took it a little more and tried to programmed the car with the latest firmware but again same results as before. The car will not program with 75.41. I had to take it back to 64.09 Program the car and then upgrade to the latest Firmware.

Just letting you all know what I had to do to get the 2019 Atlas working.

Both the TB-VW and the THAR-VW6 are not listed on the 2019 Atlas.

2019 requires firmware 61.XX since it's a keywrap. CAN is in the driver kick, correct. https://fortin.ca/download/94041/evo-one_ig_reg_bi_vw-atlas-2019-key_a_94041.pdf

PUSH START, well that makes a little more sense. I misread that part.

Will get the CAN checked on it. 61.XX firmware needed
Programming with 64.09 and the updated to 75.41 works, unknown if 61.XX works, if the Car is working Correctly do I need to downgrade the Firmware or leave it?. Just FYI - Fortin Programmer recommended the lastest firmware when vehicle was selected.
Missed your comment, apologies.

The programmer will recommend latest release of 61.xx for the 2019 Atlas.

64 will learn CAN but not function. It requires the full key learn routine and dcryptor which is not available on your Atlas yet.

61 will learn & function correctly as it's a "64" version without needing full key learn
